RESEARCH DESIGN REVIEW AND EVALUATION OF LITERATURE
Case Assignment
Using the information provided in the readings, create a table or summary list of the characteristics of the five quantitative (true experiment, quasi-experiment, single case, survey, and observational/correlation) and qualitative (action research, narrative, case study, ethnography, phenomenology, and grounded theory) designs. Arrange your summary or chart by research design. Try to create a table or summary list that will be a useful tool for you in the future, especially as it applies to your research study. Include the following elements in your chart/summary for each research design (3–4 pages):
Description of the design and when it is appropriate to use
Who is the seminal author/s of the research design
Recommended sample size /sampling techniques/approach
Types of data collected
Resource(s): Use the readings provided in Module 1 to provide a text or journal article that you think is the best reference for the design (think about what is useful to you in the future, having in mind your proposed topic from EDD 605 or any other course you have taken). Explain your reasoning. If you have alternative resources, include them as well.

Your paper will be assessed on the following criteria:
Assignment-Driven Criteria: Demonstrates mastery covering all key elements of the assignment in a substantive way.
Critical Thinking/Application to Professional Practice: Demonstrates mastery conceptualizing the problem, and careful consideration of experts or research in the field of educational leadership. Module content and concepts are thoroughly and thoughtfully analyzed, synthesized, and evaluated. Conclusions are logically presented and applied to professional practice in an exceptional manner.
