I. Unprofessional Conduct Acknowledgement

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) through its counseling programs may take disciplinary action against a student who has demonstrated unprofessional and/or unethical conduct unbecoming of a counselor in training (CIT) or is terminated by the practicum or internship site. A remedial Developmental Action Plan (DAP) is implemented if the counselor in training does not demonstrate sufficient progress with regard to performance, dispositional values, or professional standards. In the event of a referral, the counseling program’s Professional Practices Committee (PPC) reviews all documentation and makes a determination as to whether the alleged violation or deficiency has been substantiated and which actions may apply.
