Use the data above to make a line scattered plot that shows growth versus time for at different pHs. (5 points)
SOIL EXPERIMENT CONCLUSSIONS – Answer the following questions in order to organize your conclusions about this experiment.
1. Did you observe any differences between the way the radish seeds germinated and grew between the 3 treatments (water, vinegar water and soda water? Use your germination rate data as well as your observations to answer this question. ( 3 points)
2. According to your seed packet, what is the expected germination time for your radish seeds? Does this agree with what you observed in your experiment? If there are differences, why do you think they happened? ( 7 points)
3. In this experiment the cups that were treated only with water are serving as your control, meaning this is what you would expect to be “Normal Growth” under the conditions of your experiment. Acid soil (vinegar water) and Alkaline soil (soda water) represent your variables, the things you changed. Taking this in consideration, what effect do you think acidity or alkalinity of the soil had in your radish plants? ( 15 points)
4. Do an internet search to help you understand the effect of soil pH on plant growth. According to your internet searches, what soil pH is ideal to grow radishes? ( 5 points)
5. Do the results of your experiment agree with what you found about radish plants in your research? (5 points)
