Part 1: Sharpening the Team Mind: Communication and Collective Intelligence

A. There are seven communication biases listed in Chapter 6. Choose the most harmful bias, define it and give an example of it.  What could one do about that bias?  

B. Revisit communication failure about blueberries in Exhibit 6-1. Identify the possible causes of communication or decision-making failure using the information in the text book. Discuss  what each party might have felt during the interaction. 

Part 2: Group Think as a Decision Making Method  :

A. Is Group Think a Decision Making Method?  Why?  What are the key symptoms of groupthink? What problems can arise in the decision-making process as a result of groupthink? 

B. Under what conditions should an individual make a decision over a group decision.  Under what conditions should a group make a decision over an individual decision?
