Timeline Paper, Part 1

In this paper, you will identify and explain significant historical events that aided the development of human services as a profession, and describe how current trends address the needs of special populations and settings that are of unique concern for human service professionals. This first part of the paper is due in this unit. You are to complete this first part and incorporate instructor feedback into the second part due in Unit 5.

 Directions:

1. Choose a special population to use as a framework (mental health, children, older adults, addicts, etc.)
2. Provide a historical overview dating back to the 1800s about how this special population group was served by the emerging human services profession.

 Your paper should be at least 5 to 7 pages long, excluding the Title Page, Abstract, and Bibliography. Use 2 to 3 scholarly references (other than the textbook).
