Timeline

 I need a timeline of Mexico from 2002 to today.  you can go about it from the very important political/economic angle.   

- three major events from  assigned time frame.  

- Each event should begin with a month and year of the event and then a subject/headline for the event.  Then provide at least five sentences that speaks to why that particular economic or political event was significant in Mexican history .

- For each event,  you must include an image or a video (link) with proper citation/credit that goes along with each of your events.

Example: 

January 1971: Gold is discovered in Cancun
State-sponsored prospectors discover a vein of gold near the resort city of Cancun.  The discovery came after a seven year search by over 1,500 miners in one of the two mines on the Mexican coast.  The government stated over $5 billion in gold was pulled from the mine in the thirty years it remain opened, producing a bonanza for Mexico City.  The mine was officially closed in 2002 and is now part of a national museum with over 250,000 visitors annually.   It is estimated that over a 100 miners perished during the years the mine was in production.
