Thesis Requirement

You should have written a 20-page thesis based on an empirical research project. You will have selected a sociologically relevant topic, conducted a literature review, selected a research method, collected data, analyzed the data, and reported your findings.

Title of Study:  Cyberbullying: General Perception and How One Should Handle Legally

Purpose of Study: You are being asked to participate in a research study designed to understand your perceptions of cyberbullying and potential legal remedies.

Procedures: You will be asked to respond honestly to a series of questions about your perceptions of cyberbullying during an interview that will take approximately 30 minutes. I will take notes capture our interview which will be later transcribed with no identifying information contained in the transcription. 

Benefits: There are no benefits associated with this study.

Risks: There are no risks other than those incurred in daily life.

Costs/incentives: There are not costs or incentives associated with this study.

Confidentiality:   All obtained data will be kept confidential removing all names or any information that would reveal identity. The collected information will be kept on a password protected computer. All transcriptions will also be placed in a locked safe in order to have backup files. The safe is accessible only by the investigator, Sharrod Sutton.

Use of information:  This information will be used as a class paper. 

Voluntary The participants may withdraw from the study at any time, or decline to participation participate, without any penalty.
