Researching World Theatre Traditions
· Choose two theatre traditions from the list provided on Blackboard.
· Research the cultural context of these traditions using at least two different websites which provide written, visual, and audio resources and which show the practice in action.
· For each chosen tradition, provide 5-8 bulleted notes. When composing your notes, consider the following:
· When was the tradition developed or gain popularity? Is it still performed today?
· Details about the structure (inside/outside; formal/informal; scripted/improvised), design (set, costumes, makeup/masks, etc.), style (realistic? stylized? poetic?).
· Audience: who typically attends? do they participate in any way? are they quiet or vocal?
