The novel Why Be Happy When You Can Be Normal Compared to the novel All You Can Ever Know

Winterson comments on her own body and appearance, on Mrs. Winterson’s body, and on Ann’s when she meets her at the end of the memoir. Yet throughout the memoir, she never seems to yearn for someone who physically resembles her.
