Smart Hydrants

Hydrants are critical in saving lives of city residents as these are the source of water to put out fires in communities. To make sure these are functioning, regular checkup is required. For the most part this process is manual. For the smart city we are required to have following need for the hydrants:

· Smart hydrants must report the health status periodically to the fire department and city automatically. This will save some labor cost in sending a person to do manual inspection.

· Smart hydrant must be consistent with surroundings in an aesthetic sense so that it does not look out of place and looks modern.

· If the Hydrant starts malfunctioning, then it should alert the fire department and city both.
