Synopsis About Judaism

Write a 3 pages synopsis on Judaism.  A synopsis should explain the following points:

1. Where this religion is currently being practiced (name at least 3 countries, including the one that has the most Hindus in it worldwide and the one that has the most Hindus as a percent of its population), and roughly how many adherents it has in at least two of these ways: (a) popularity rank, (b) flat numbers, or (c) percentage of worldwide population;

2. A brief history of its beginnings and its growth (notice these are two separate things – explain them both);

3. Its sacred texts (be sure to name and explain them);

4. Its core beliefs, including view of (a) the sacred, (b) the afterlife, (c) the main problem and (d) the solution to it/the main goal of human life. Add one more core belief. For Buddhism, this section must include the 4 noble truths.

5. Main practices – i.e., techniques to reach the goal. As you go, be sure to explain at least 4 practices, including a holiday. For Buddhism, this section must include the 8fold path, name each step of the path and explain 2.
