Super Bowl commercial // short essay

profilefahadalkutahiri

Think of the Super Bowl commercial by 84 Lumber where the mother and daughter immigrants make a rugged journey from South of the Mexican border to the U.S. border only to find the wall has been built that prevents them from crossing.  Then they find a gate that will admit them.  How does this message serve as a form of intercultural communication?  What does the ad mean?  What does it suggest about the dominant culture of the U.S.?  Does it suggest anything about the migrating Latinas/Hispanics?  Does it say anything about the consumer culture of the U.S.?  If so, what?  Please use concepts we have discussed and read about in the course such as individualism, collectivism, globalism, and worldview.
