Strategic development begins with the mission, vision, and values as defined by the organization and then discovers how to best complement the organization's vision. Providing a strategic plan gives structure to employees to follow a vision, direction for the practice and influences the environment (Strategic Planning, 2009). There are numerous methods for strategy planning, although most all of them have similar principal elements, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Furthermore, breaking it down into a nursing process of four stages in the strategy process formulation, operationalizing, execution, and monitoring (Waxman, 2013).
