Assignment Directions:

From Chapter 13, complete at least two ANOVA problems showing calculations and reasoning.

In Excel, conduct a one-way ANOVA on a dataset with at least three groups; present group means, F-statistic, p-value, and where significant, post-hoc comparisons.

Capstone Mini Report (3 pages): Choose a small dataset relevant to your interests. Perform descriptive statistics, confidence intervals, hypothesis tests or ANOVA/regression as appropriate, and interpret the results in context. Include visual displays (charts, tables) and clear narrative.

Excel Directions:

ANOVA (one-way):

Use Data → Data Analysis → ANOVA: Single Factor.

Select grouped data for different categories.

Excel generates ANOVA table with Between-group, Within-group variance, F-statistic, and p-value.

For post-hoc tests (if supported): Excel’s built-in is limited; you might compute pairwise t-tests with Bonferroni corrections manually or use supplemental tools.

For final project:

Use Excel to compile descriptive stats, compute confidence intervals, run hypothesis tests/regressions/ANOVA as needed.

Create charts and tables (histograms, scatterplots, boxplots) using Excel’s chart features.

Use cell references so results update if data change.

Export charts and tables to embed in your report.
