Statistic Problem using R or SPSS
Using the statistical package R or SPSS and the data set provided (ECLS-K data), design a research question to test and conduct a test of association between two variables. You might choose to use existing variables, or you might recode an existing variable into a new variable (like, low, medium and high).
In a discussion format, describe your research question (RQ). This will include:
1. RQ being investigated in question form
2. Description of variables
3. Why a test of association is necessary for this research question
4. State your null and alternative hypotheses in two different ways
a. In terms of your RQ (in sentence form)
b. In statistical notation
Now, conduct the hypothesis test:
1. Calculate a test statistic using statistical software or by hand
2. Identify a critical value/p-value/confidence interval that guides what decision will be made in the test.
3. State your conclusion (related to the hypothesis and the RQ)
