The Funny Side of Fear

Due October 19 @8pm(Yes your revisions are due the same day. Print and bring your revisions to class.)

1. Put your jokes onto index cards, one joke per card, so you don’t get mixed up.

2. Know your material well! You will be graded on the way you deliver your jokes.

3. Try to memorize some of the jokes, and use the index cards as a backup.

4. You are welcome to use props, puppets, etc., no food bc it gets messy.

5. You can create a comedy team with another classmate, no more than two students. If you have a comedy team your time will be 6-10 minutes.

6. As a singular student your time is 3-5 minutes.

7. I will choose the order of performances, so please be ready to go. You will have to go. Every student is going to participate in this.

8. I will post up the rubric for how this assignment will be graded.

9. Just be yourself.

10. Have fun with it.

11. There is no bar on profanity, but use it to make a point, not just to be gratuitous.

12. Don’t worry about offending people. People will be offended anyway, however DO NOT use HATE SPEECH against any race, culture, socio-economic status, gender, religion (lack of religion), or sexual orientation. You will be asked to leave the room and will be given a 0 for the day and the assignment. If you are not sure if your joke is hate speech, it probably is so don’t use it.

13. The most important rule about Fight Club, is that there is no Fight Club.

PLEASE MAKE SURE JOKES ARE AT LEAST 3 MINUTES NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
