Summers (2016) describes change as a process and argues that understanding where a client is in the change process makes human service workers more effective. 

• Define and describe one of the stages of change discussed by Summers.
• Provide an example of how an offender in this stage of change would present during an assessment.
• In which stage would you expect most offenders to be? Explain your answer.
