Space Mission Essay

Review: The lesson 1 readings and chapter 1-3 of our textbook.

Compose: a 2-3 page Essay (minimum of 2 Full Pages of Narrative) following APA Style that describes a recent space mission (within the last 10 years) that you feel is important to current and future space operations. Be sure to address the following points:

• Introduction describing the basic mission information
• Describe the central elements of the space mission architecture (Figure 1-20)
• Describe how the nature of the space environment and its influence on the mission
• Conclude with your thoughts on the major contributions of this mission and how it may contribute to future missions

Your Essay must include at least 3 Scholarly References (one of which can be our textbook).

This Essay will contribute 10% toward your Final Grade.

The following Essay Format Must be Followed!

Submit your assignment as a Microsoft Word Document with the file name as follows: SPST 305 Essay-LastFirst Initial (i.e., SPST 305 Essay-SmithJ.docx)

References (Last Page)

Please submit your Essay in Microsoft Word Format.

Remember, all of our course essays will be written using APA Formatting. This means your paper should have 1" margins on all sides, be double-spaced throughout, and list references with hanging indents.

While figures and tables with pictures, charts, or graphs are welcomed when they enhance your information, they DO NOT contribute to the minimum number of narrative pages required.

In-text citations MUST BE USED be used and have corresponding references in accordance with APA Style rules! Generally speaking, most every paragraph should have At Leastone in-text citation. Your essay must include at least 3 scholarly references.

Wikipedia IS NOT a scholarly source and is an inappropriate reference for college-level work.

A note on Direct Quotes. This is a college-level class. Direct quotes should be used sparingly (only when absolutely necessary to maintain the original meaning). Paraphrasing (with in-text citations) is preferred as this substantiates your thoughts and ideas while demonstrating your ability to analyze and evaluate the information you are researching while still crediting your sources (vs. your ability to copy and paste).

Remember, you are using APA Style. You should not have any footnotes (APA Style uses in-text citations) and only a reference list (no additional bibliography). Every citation listed in your text MUST have a corresponding reference on your reference page. In as such, every reference listed on your reference page should have at least 1 corresponding in-text citation!
