For this paper assignment, please complete the following on poverty:
1) Based on the reading in Chapter 2, choose ONE of the theories that explains poverty (Functionalism, Conflict Theory or Symbolic Interaction) and present an argument as to how the cause you choose leads to a set of workable solutions to the current extent of poverty.
*The paper should be a minimum of 500 words of text, with a word count listed at the bottom.
*Points will be deducted for papers that are sloppily written and for those that are less than the required length.
2) Americans often feel there are tremendous resources available for the poor. I would like you to investigate the local Duval County resources available for the poor, obtain an application, and write about your research and experiences in a 500- word minimum paper.
Your write-up should summarize the amount and type of resources available, as well as the processes involved in obtaining these resources.
Make sure you actually visit one location; don’t just print off an application online.
