Researchers can also disseminate their findings informally by networking with colleagues. Both formal and informal methods can create opportunities for practice improvement and social change.
In this final Discussion, you share your research informally by identifying a key idea or piece of information from your research proposal. You also connect your study to social work practice, and identify any limitations that might exist.

Sampling and Sampling Method
The proposed research shall use a purposive sampling method to select participants who have experienced refugee status. In the context of the study of mental health needs and challenges among refugees, the sampling method is highly appropriate due to the unique and varied nature of their experiences (Oliveros et al., 2022). The selection of participants who have experienced refugee status is the best method by the researcher to ensure that the sample is composed of individuals who have firsthand knowledge of mental health issues faced by refugees. Such a targeted approach allows for a focused exploration of the topic. The participants will be chosen specifically for their ability to provide relevant and insightful perspectives.
Further, the sampling method will promote diversity within the sample by considering various demographic factors such as age, gender, ethnicity, and length of displacement. The diversity status will ensure that a wide range of viewpoints and experiences are represented. It shall be possible to enable a comprehensive understanding of the complexities that affect mental health within the refugee population. Recruitment of participants from different settings like refugee camps, urban areas, and resettlement sites will allow the researcher to capture the diverse contexts in which refugees navigate their mental health journeys. Such camps are affected by unique challenges like overcrowding and limited access to resources, while urban areas and resettlement sites can have different support systems for integration. The participants in the varied settings will ensure the researcher can explore how environmental factors and social contexts impact mental health experiences among refugees.
Data Collection
Data shall be collected using structured surveys provided to the selected participants. The surveys will be designed to gather information on the prevalence and severity of mental health issues, healthcare utilization patterns, and perceived barriers to access mental health services among refugees. Further, qualitative insights may be collected using open-ended survey questions to capture specific experiences and perspectives related to mental health care.
Ethics and Cultural Considerations
It is proper to consider these since they ensure the well-being and dignity of participants. First, informed consent needs to be obtained from all participants. It will emphasize their voluntary participation and the confidentiality of their responses. Second, the fact that mental health discussions have a sensitive nature requires participants to be provided with appropriate resources for support and referrals to mental health services if needed. Third, cultural considerations will be included throughout the research process. The researcher needs to be culturally competent to handle the interviews and attain reliable communication. Further, it shall be possible to build rapport with participants.
Discussion
The study’s anticipated results will reveal significant disparities in mental health outcomes among refugees. Various factors like cultural background, social networks, and access to healthcare services will influence all the details mentioned. If the data does not align with these expectations, there will be a need for further exploration into underlying factors that contribute to mental health disparities among refugees. There might then be a need to engage in more qualitative research to ensure any types of complexities of refugees' experiences and needs get addressed.
Reflection
The research proposal process has taught me the importance of meticulous planning and consideration of ethical and cultural factors. All these need to be considered for sensitive research done on vulnerable populations like refugees. I know that I have gained a deeper knowledge of the complexities of mental health care access and disparities among refugees. All these prove that the application of research is highly imperative to find out the internal details that are connected to demographic issues.
