Preparation for Licensure

Licensure is a critical step on the path to becoming a licensed social worker—without a license, you cannot practice as a social worker. The licensure exam encapsulates all you have worked for by affirming your knowledge and learning. However, there is more to the exam than a test. Each state has different requirements, and the journey to the exam room involves some bureaucracy and paperwork and the ability to navigate both. In this Assignment, you identify best practices for licensure preparation.

· Review the materials on the Association of Social Work Boards’ (ASWB’s) website about licensure and regulations in your state.

Assignment

Submit a 1-page paper in which you complete the following:

· Identify the state or states ( GEORGIA)in which you plan to seek social work licensure.

· Identify the first three steps in the licensure process in your state.

Note: Retain a copy of this information for Week 3 and the Skills Lab Intensive in Week 4.
