Explain the formal education and reproduction (hegemony) argument. Be sure to explain how education helps specifically reproduce the status quo and elite domination. Who are the elites (corporate capitalists)? What are some of the negative consequences of this "bias" in education? Be sure to explain the concept of education as critical pedagogy which includes critique of society with the inclusion of science, research and praxis. In short, explain how education could be counter-hegemonic.
