Each student in your group must gather information about the project topic through observation, interviews, or by reading some of the literature about the topic. You will determine each member’s contribution during in-class sessions. The progress report consists of two parts. For Part I, define a specific social informatics problem/event (e.g., cyberbullying in social media space, phone addiction) and compile an accounting of the information gathering that each individual has done so far (interviews with X persons about the defined problem, observations at X office/company, reading popular or scholarly articles) and the resultant findings related to the socio-technical nature of the problem. Each student has to do at least one half-hour interview + 4 scholarly paper reading.
