Situational Analysis

This paper will identify and describe Hershey’s company, what business it is in, and set out the marketing problem that needs to be solved, and develop a marketing plan of your own to solve the problem. This is a situational analysis. 

In thinking about the company what product or service needs a fresh look or can be ‘redefined’ to generate interest again by the consumer - with the end goal of increasing sales volumes and subsequent revenue. Or, perhaps there is a new product or service that would bring revenue to the company. 

Describe in paragraph format: 

  • Describe Hershey’s company and the products or services they offer. 
  • What is the new or redefined product or service that you have selected? 
  • State the mission and vision of the company. 
  • Describe how the new or redefined product or service aligns with the mission and vision of the organization. 

What you have accomplished at the end of this paper is called a Situational Analysis. The description is available in the textbook. See the description on page 246 of your textbook (Peter, J. P., & Donnelly, Jr., J. H. (2019). A preface to marketing management (15th ed.). Columbus, OH: Irwin/McGraw-Hill).

Paper length: 4 pages, not including title page and references. APA is in 12- point Times New Roman, double-spaced throughout. Include at least 6 references (Can have 2 blogs/webpages)
