Read the EP-3 assignment and sample. Write an interview purpose statement and 4-6 questions to ask your expert.

Process:

Research the person you’d like to interview for your EP-3 project. Write a short interview purpose statement that answers the following questions:

• Who will you interview? What are their credentials in this area?
• What is the purpose of this interview?
• What do I want to find out?
• How will this information help make an argument?

Recall the advice from “Living Sources”:

With this in mind, develop 4-6 questions for your interview subject.

Objectives:

• Consider who might be a good candidate for an interview.
• Plan potential questions.
• Avoid problematic questions and lines of inquiry.
