Prison Overcrowding (100 points)
Imagine the Supreme Court declared the prison system in your state unconstitutional because of severe overcrowding and ordered a reduction of the inmate population by tens of thousands. As the director/secretary of your state’s Department of Corrections, what would you do? What options would you have? What if your state was in extreme financial trouble already? Explain the steps you would take to reduce prison overcrowding and your reasoning.
