short paper

In this exercise you are to write a short paper analyzing the term "white collar crime."  I am looking for a thorough analysis of how the meaning of this phrase has developed and changed through the years since it was first introduced by Sutherland in 1939.  Does it make sense to you?  Does it fit into our contemporary society?  Are there other, better ways for defining crimes that are often labeled as 'white collar"?  How much of a factor is the media in all of this?
