At one point in the movie, Aura's mom asks if Aura's date for the evening (Jed) is nice. This seems like a simple question but seems to get to the heart of the movie. Do you think Jed is nice, why or why not? How does Aura answer this question? What does she think is nice about him? What sort of self-esteem does Aura get from thinking or saying that Jed is her boyfriend? What does she get from Jed at all? Is Aura nice to Jed? (Note: you do not have to answer all of these questions but rather use the questions to frame your thinking around Aura and Jed's relationship.)
