#1: Provide at least three (3) goals of tourism development. As director of sales for a

large resort hotel, describe the marketing advantages of the hotel’s use of local exterior

design, locally crafted furnishings and art objects, as well as featuring authentic

indigenous entertainment.

#2: Define and explain environmental quality and its importance in hospitality and

tourism. Is involvement of local people recommended for ecotour companies (Provide 3

reasons why and 2 examples of each).

#3: What is a “Destination Vision?” Explain in detail the following

components of the vision: preamble, core vision, values, supporting elements, and

principles.

#4: List and explain the benefits of ecotourism, including at least four (4) of the major

ones listed in the text (1. Provides jobs and income for local people, 2. Makes possible

funds to purchase and improve protected or natural areas to attract more ecotourists in

the future, 3. Provides environmental education for visitors, 4. Encourages heritage and

environmental preservation and enhancement) Provide 2 examples of each benefit you

list.
