Selection of a Temperature Sensor

 Assume that we can either use a thermocouple or a RTD (Resistive Temperature Detector) for a given industrial application. Discuss the pros and cons of using a thermocouple versus using an RTD. 

 Temperature is probably the most measured parameter across the different industrial applications we deal with on a daily basis. But there is always a decision to be made. That is, what temperature sensor should be used for each application? In this activity we will discuss the factors influencing the selection of a temperature sensor for a given application.
