Answer the two Discussion questions posted by your Facilitator with a minimum of 250 words and one scholarly source other than the textbook provided in the course (each main post)

Discussion Question 1: Throughout this text, the effects and influence of technology on the field of criminal justice is discussed. Choose and discuss one way that newly developed technology is being used by criminals to commit crimes today. Then discuss how advances in technology are improving crime detection and resolution capabilities. What challenges do advances in technology present to law enforcement?  Do you believe that police agencies will be able to continue to investigate and solve crimes using technology?

Discussion Question 2: Define the terms "decriminalization" and "legalization" of controlled substances. Make an argument in favor or opposed to one of these strategies. Provide an example of a jurisdiction where this strategy is being used. Is it successful at reducing substance abuse in that jurisdiction?
