The American Nurses Association (ANA) has put together the Nursing Code of Ethics to guide nursing practice and ensure the highest standards of ethical behavior. The Code was developed as a guide for carrying out nursing responsibilities in a manner consistent with quality in nursing care and the ethical obligations of the profession. The Code of Ethics consists of two components: the nine provisions and the accompanying interpretive statements.

1. Read all nine provisions and interpretative statements. After doing the readings and based on your clinical experiences to date, address one of the statements that reflects synthesis of knowledge, your clinical experiences, inquiry, and application of information. As a leader, how would you address the issue.
