Setting Goals and Managing Your Time
Setting goals helps you to determine where you want to go in life. It gives you vision and motivation. If you know what you want to achieve, you will know where to concentrate your efforts, organize your time, and your resources. By setting goals, you will be staging a forward momentum, a purpose; and will benefit from the reward of achieving of those goals. Without goals, you may be set perpetually adrift in life; perhaps never experiencing a sense of real achievement because you have not determined what it is you really want to achieve in the first place.
Effective time management techniques and strategies can influence not only academic success, but also personal success. New technological devices have led to incessant interruptions in our lives. It takes self-discipline and self-understanding to know when it is appropriate to tune in and when you should tune out.
This module will help you to become aware of how set goals and manage time more effectively. You will analyze how individuals (and yourself) accomplish the tasks that you choose as priorities and identify strategies for dealing with roadblocks.
