Assignment Directions:

For Project 4, you will evaluate logistics as a supply chain component, including how to measure performance and key strategies to improve effectiveness. Plus, evaluate the impact of forecasting process and demand planning on supply chain effectiveness. Your assignment will be in Chapters 8 and 9.

For the next two weeks, you will be using the Project 4 Template, an Excel Spreadsheet workbook to answer 6 data analysis questions. There are 6 tabs in the excel workbook, one for each of the 6 questions you’ll be answering. The first three tabs (1, 2, & 3) relate to Chapter 8 (Forecasting and demand planning) while tabs 4, 5, and 6 relate to calculations you’ll be completing regarding chapter 9 (Inventory management). The six calculation problems you’ll complete are referenced back to an example in Chapters 8 and 9. For most of the tabs, there are multiple tasks to complete. All are sequential and must be completed in order. Point values for each problem are in the instructions.

Instructions:

To receive credit, you must use formulas to calculate all answers. To assist with this, use the Excel 2016 Formulas (tutorials two trough five under Formula and Function Basics) [webpage](this link opens in a new window/tab) . This can help you refresh your knowledge of inserting formulas, summing tables of data, etc. It is recommended that you review these early in Week Seven.
