Now we will take a look at the treatments for schizophrenia out there. Read the section called, "Treatments" in module 14.3 (15.2 in the 11th edition).  If you are interested in finding out why there are so many people out there with untreated schizophrenia I recommend the following documentary from FRONTLINE http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/released/view/ (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. 

1. Choose ONE of the following questions to answer below:

How is it possible for drugs that are antagonists for the same neurotransmitter (such as dopamine) to have different effects on people?

What evidence is there to support the dopamine hypothesis?

What evidence is there to support the glutamate hypothesis?
