Scenario

Hurricane Harvey and the Arkema plant in Crosby. After the plant lost power, volatile organic compounds burst into flame, causing an area 1.5 miles around the plant to evacuate. Among the spectacular disasters related to Hurricane Harvey, the fire at the Arkema plant in Crosby stood out.

Discussion Scenario:

As a public safety manager, you have been assigned to review the failed emergency plan (or lack thereof) from the fire at the Arkema plant. Your investigation of the occurrence will come from reading the slide narratives of the event. Your task is to write a summary and list your recommendations based on what you have read; cite disaster responses from what you have learned in this class as a researcher and previous coursework.
