Sales and Use Tax: What is the Solution?

Each state deals with Sales and Use Tax individually. In other words there is not a federal Sales and Use Tax. This creates some interesting issues since the majority of sales transactions are done across state lines. 

Prepare a 700- to 1,050-word document that addresses the following:

• What are the Sales and Use Tax      laws in your state? What are the rates and when and how are they paid?
• In your opinion, should there      be a federal Sales and Use Tax System? What would be some of the      advantages and disadvantages? Would it be collected by the states or the      federal government? If collected by the federal government, how would it      be divided amongst the states?

Format your assignment to APA standards.  Use the APA Template provided under Announcement #2, week 1.

APA: There should be some APA citations in your assignment if you are using information from your State's website. 

Word Count: Make sure you are at least meeting the minimum word count.
