People who live in rural areas deal with many health concerns that do not affect people living in urban areas.
Instructions: Find out whether Florida has received grants to establish or maintain rural health services by visiting the federal Health Resources and Services Administration website (http://www.hrsa.gov/ruralhealth/). Click on the “Grants Map by State” link. A geographical map will pop up.
Locate your state on the map, and find out what grants have been awarded to areas in your state by this agency.
Discuss what population changes have occurred in rural areas and the impact from receipt of the grants if any. Include the effects of migration on health care delivery and patient outcomes.
