Case Study scenario : In a hospital setting, a patient admitted to the emergency department (ED) for an acute MI receives medications for this event. However, during the handoff to the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), discrepancies in medication orders occur, leading to confusion and overmedication of the patient. As a result, the patient develops an acute hypotensive event and requires prolonged hospitalization and stabilization.
