Reverse discrimination
Reverse discrimination is very real. There are many cases that have been in the media where a white student was reject from a university even though he had everything that school was requiring. When compared in paper, the minority candidate had equal accomplishments and had met the school requirements and because of the affirmative action, the minority student was chosen from the white student. Even at times when the white student was better qualified than the minority student, the minority was given entry to the school. Reverse discrimination can also happen during hiring or even being passed promotion at work. It can be based on gender or because there if favoritism towards a minority. Also, age can be a factor, how many older people are hired compare to younger crowd? So many factors can be taken into consideration and for that same reason, employers and schools must make the right decision when taking applications.
This is a real problem but there are solutions. Can someone give me an example of an affirmative action plan that would not get in trouble either way?
