Discuss the differences and similarities between quantitative, qualitative and mix methods research studies:

The first thing l will start doing is describing each method.  Qualitative research and quantitative research are two distinct research methods in social science disciplines.  In other hands quantitative research is characterized by deductive approaches to the research process armed at proving, disproving, or lending credence to existing theories. This type of method involves measuring variable and testing collecting and analyzing artifacts from individuals to construct rich descriptions and explanatory frameworks about a phenomenon. The values underlying quantitative research include neutrality, objectivity, and the acquisition of a sizeable scope of knowledge ( e.g., a statistical overview from a large sample).  collects and analyzes numerical value to test hypotheses and create generalizable knowledge. This approach is generally approaches when your primary purpose is to explain or evaluate.

Qualitative research is generally characterized by inductive approaches to knowledge building aimed at generating meaning in other word qualitative research focuses on understanding meanings and experiences.  Mixed methods research combines elements of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies in a single project or study, leveraging their unique strengths and counterbalancing their limitations give permission for a more nuanced understanding of phenomena that cannot be sufficiently addressed by a single method . Mixed methods research has been applied in various fields, including engineering education, rural studies, medicine, scientific technological research and humanistic. By integrating qualitative and quantitative approaches, mixed methods research offers the potential for broader and increased application in various research contexts.

 In conclusion mixed methods research involve collecting, analyzing, and in some way integrating qualitative and quantitative in a single project. The phases of a research project are integrated or synergistic.
