  Respond to these short response questions

1. Describe the difference between assertive versus aggressive communication. Discuss a work or class related situation where you have the opportunity to use assertive communication (use the Situation – Action – Results formula to summarize your example). 

2. What is the impact of culture on nonverbal communication? Give an example you have experienced from work or in class of how culture seemed to shape the nonverbal communication that took place (think Situation – Action – Results). 

3. Describe your nonverbal communication style and identify your strategies for improving your nonverbal communication. How will you implement these strategies in your work and class encounters? 

4. Describe the characteristics of a good listener and then identify some strategies for improved listening. What are your strengths and weaknesses as a good listener? Finally, identify at least two strategies you will implement during the second half of the semester to improve your listening skills.
