response paper

The response papers should be approximately two pages in length (typed, double-spaced, 12 pt. font).

They should consist of a critical summary of one of the readings from the week.

The format for these papers is as follows:

• begin with a quote from the reading that you feel summarizes the main point of the reading

• In the body of the paper, you should analyze what insights the reading has to offer (you may also include your own ideas about aspects of the reading that fall short of your expectations or contradict your own experience)

• end the paper with a few questions about the reading (involving points of clarification or further issues the reading raises)
