My company, especially my department, has been undergoing a lot of change over the last 12 months. For example, I have had 4 bosses in this time period. The person that hired me left to another division within the company, the next was let go, we had an interim manager, and now I have my current boss. During this timeframe the members in my department essentially fended for themselves. We did our jobs and then some with little oversight. My current boss has been initiating change since day one of coming on board. Based on skills learned in this class I can confidently say that there is a number of things my current manager should have/ should be doing better while trying to implement change the most important of which is communicate better. He is not a good communicator. He frequently makes decisions or pivots things and only tells us after the fact and usually after we have asked why something is happening the way it is.

Communication. Effective communication is a skill that I have realized is most relevant for both my professional and personal life. Good communication skills will make or break a situation.
