Some of the concerns a municipality may be faced with when approving permits for new industries would be pressures from citizens to preserve space and vegetation versus the development and destruction of the land, using the area and land for industries over a desire to preserve and enhance air and water quality, and the uses or pollution of common resources such as ground water. The biggest concern should be a determination of what types of pollutants will or may be released and the amounts that will or could potential be released.
