STREETWISEThe instance that I think of that is the George Floyd case that happened in 2020. In May 2020 a white male officer kneeled on George Floyd's neck for almost 10 minutes and killed him by doing that. this has caused media bias to influence how the public views law enforcement negatively. This caused a lot of negativity towards the police and it caused a lot of protests and a lot of concerns about how to end racism and create inclusivity, equality, and equity.
In response to two of your peers, read the examples they provided and address the following questions:
- Do you agree that media bias played a role in the public's perception of police in the instance provided? Why or why not?
