The subject of investing in nuclear power has always been a tricky one for me. On one hand, we have plenty of evidence in support of nuclear power. It is relatively safe, clean, renewable, on paper it sounds like a great idea. On the other hand, the potential fallout cannot be ignored. Even if the risk is marginal, it only takes one accident to end up with another disaster like Three Mile Island or Chernobyl. I see the advantages of nuclear power, but what I do not trust is human capacity for error. I think it would be safer for the US to continue investing in other alternative energy sources like geothermal, solar, or wind power rather than risk a potential fallout.
