In Dante’s Inferno there’s the gate of hell and 9 circles. The circle that I’d like the describe is circle one. Circle one the the Inferno is called Limbo. Limbo is a region on the edge of hell. This region is for those who haven’t committed sin, yet aren’t saved.
According to the book, the Limbo region consists of many great heroes, thinkers, and creative minds of ancient Greece and Rome. Aristotle was one one the known philosophers in Limbo. Moreover, Limbo was the home of major figures from the Hebrew bible. Those figures from the Hebrew bible were “liberated” by Jesus following his crucifixion.
