APA format.  you are required to reply to at least 2 classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 150 words.

Responding to a classmate’s thread requires both the addition of new ideas and analysis. A particular point made by the classmate must be addressed and built upon by your analysis in order to move the conversation forward. Thus, the reply is a rigorous assignment that requires you to build upon threads to develop deeper and more thorough discussion of the ideas introduced in the thread. As such, replies that merely affirm, restate, or unprofessionally quarrel with the previous post(s) and fail to make a valuable, substantive contribution to the discussion will receive appropriate point deductions.

I would have no other choice but to give Dough three to five years in prison. The drug he was under the influence of is alcohol I surmise. Of that three to five he must serve at least eighteen months. Upon release his drivers license will be suspended for one year, he will be placed on three years supervised parole, with bi-weekly drug testing. Dough will also attend a substance abuse counseling program. All of these things will be conditions in your parole. Dough clearly has problems that is going to hinder him until he himself decides to get it under control. His passed records show that he's attended substance abuse counseling, and a years probation as well. Unfortunatley he did not seem to get things under control. The fact that over the last ten years you haven't kept a job longer than two years and changed jobs seven times seems to suggest problems with the common denominator. The sentence is intended for punishment and rehabilitation. I believe that you can be an upstanding member of society if you discipline yourself where needed. You have to stop before you kill someone or yourself. With the mercy this sentence has now is because of your wife and children. If there is a next time in court for this offense, there will be a much harsher punishment.

Wow, I don't think he committed aggravated assault due to his record.  It doesn't state that he is a violent drinker, it shows that he is a person who drinks irresponsible.  If he in the case he did commit a crime of aggravated assault he should be punished.  "Although different correctional goals have been emphasized in varying degrees over time, the most dominant correctional goal has historically been punishment, the infliction of pain or suffering".   Seiter, R. P. (2017).  Our society need this to enforce people to be disciplined citizens.  I think specific deterrence is the one that I would choose at this stage of Mr. Dough life.  "When an individual commits a crime ans receives a punishment, the punishment is designed to result in specific deterrence of that offender from committing further crimes."  Seiter, R. P. (2017).  This punishment is created that the offender is so uncomfortable and unpleasant that they would not want to commit that crime again.  This punishment will need to be swift, certain, and specific to the criminal act.  This is very good idea and I feel the right way to proceed for this person criminal act.  John 14:15 "If you love me keep my commandments." 2017 King James Bible online.  Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, "declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future."  God loves us all, and we all sin, but he wants us to know him and to follow his path.
