- Paragraph 1: Introduction of the Topic

- This paragraph will introduce the topic and the literary works you have been working with for the past few weeks and that was approved in your mindmap in week 5.
- Any background information on the topic, as a whole, should be cited in-text. *basically, any research you read to help you write this paragraph should be paraphrased and cited in-text.
- Paragraph 2: Research Question and Your Approach
- 5-7 sentences
- Introduce the research question you have developed here. Remember that you chose a topic that interested you from the provided list, and then you found two authors that wrote about that topic. Now, you will develop a specific question you plan to answer in your final essay. This will help focus your essay and provide you guidance on what you would like to discuss.
- Explain, in detail, how you plan to approach answering this research question and give me and your peers an idea of what you plan to talk about
- Then, provide your working thesis. Your thesis should answer your research question in ONE sentence.
- Paragraphs 3 and 4: Overview of Sources
- You must use at least 7 sources in this section that you think you might use in your final paper
- To complete this section, you should have already read through all of your sources. You will look for sources that attempt and help you answer your research question.
- In one paragraph, explain which sources are your strongest and explain why they are the strongest (5 sentence minimum)
- In another paragraph, explain how each of the strongest sources helps you answer the research question. Use paraphrasing or quoting from each source to support your answers.
- ALL sources must be ACADEMIC and credible. Do not use any sources that come from any type of media source (such as a magazine, news, radio). You may not use any wikis and NO blogs. You will be evaluated on your information literacy here, so I would recommend finding most of your sources from the databases or scholarly journals to avoid losing points.
- Paragraph 5: Roadmap
- 5-7 sentences
- This paragraph should explain how you will write the essay. You can include information here on how many paragraphs you plan to have and why that would work. You may discuss if you need more sources and which sources you currently have would be the strongest. You could even discuss sources you might eliminate. You can also discuss difficulties you have currently faced in your research or what gaps you have found in your research that need filling.
